Spironolactone
A very common anti-androgen that is often used in addition to estrogen. It's a pill form swallowed once or twice daily.
Take a once or twice daily pill. We recommend not taking this late in the evening because it can cause increased urination.
Spironolactone is a diuretic (water pill), so it may lower your blood pressure and make you urinate more. You should consider drinking more water or eating foods with salt if you feel dizzy, faint, or dehydrated. Too much spironolactone can cause kidney, electrolyte (potassium) and heart arrythmias, as well as psychiatric problems
Very effective at decreasing testosterone levels. Relatively inexpensive. As a diuretic, it can make someone have to pee frequently. This can lead to lower blood pressure, fatigue, and dehydration. Can increase potassium levels in the blood, especially in those with kidney issues -- very rarely this can lead to dangerous changes in heartbeat.
