November 6, 2024 — BOSTON, MA — As the LGBTQIA+ community faces heightened uncertainty following the re-election of former President Donald Trump, FOLX Health reaffirms its unwavering commitment to providing life-saving healthcare and mental health support.
Telehealth Therapy, Community Spaces and Increased Mental Health Support
At a time when fear and anxiety are spiking, we continue to expand our mental health care offerings. We have begun offering therapy in nine states, and are working to expand to all 50. This expansion is part of a broader push to prioritize mental health in light of increasing legislative threats, which have left 2 in 3 trans individuals reporting frequent mental distress.
Our community spaces, available to all FOLX members and supported by LGBTQIA+ specialized therapists and clinicians, provide a safe space for members to share, connect, and receive support. Our partnership with Crisis Text Line allows community members access to 24/7 confidential mental health support by texting 'FOLX' to 741741.
Fighting for LGBTQIA+ Rights
With over 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced this year, we remain focused on protecting and increasing access to care. We continue as active members of the American Telemedicine Association, lobbying for increased access to telehealth, and we remain steadfast in pushing for policies that protect trans rights to access healthcare.
